The mission of The Saint John’s Bible and Heritage Program is to “ignite the spiritual imagination of people around the world on all faith journeys.” Today, there are over 160 institutions and families around the world that are hosts to The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Edition, from universities, schools, health centers, churches, retreat centers, museums, and private homes. Here is an inside look into how the Heritage Edition is used in religious institutions.
The Heritage Edition is a fine-arts reproduction that’s been thoughtfully designed to faithfully capture the same artistic spirit and grand scale of the original manuscript. Notably, Canterbury Cathedral used a Heritage Edition in the March 2026 Installation of The Most Rev. Sarah Mullally, Archbishop of Canterbury.

As the first handwritten manuscript crafted since the invention of the printing press, The Saint John’s Bible unites people of all faith journeys with its immaculate artistry and painstaking craft.
On December 23, 2024, Anne Thompson from NBC featured The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Program on a special segment about St. Patrick’s Cathedral’s newly acquired Apostles Edition. She spoke with Rev. Dr. John F. Ross, Executive Director of the Heritage Program and His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, about the significance of the gift to the Cathedral and New York City at large.
Award-winning projection artist Nina Dunn created visuals based on Donald Jackson’s illustrations from The Saint John’s Bible. These dynamic and vibrant visuals are projected onto the iconic east window of St Martin-in-the-Fields church throughout the performance.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise receives a volume of the Heritage Edition of The Saint John’s Bible. As a symbolic gesture, the night shift staff in each hospital department are the first to see the volume as the hospital kicks-off its Year With The Saint John’s Bible.
The Heritage Edition is the only full-size illuminated fine art edition of the original Saint John’s Bible. Approximately one-half of the 299 limited editions have been acquired by universities, churches, libraries, hospitals and families across many faith traditions.
