With only 12 in existence, The Apostles Edition of The Saint John’s Bible is a uniquely rare and exquisite expression of Holy Scripture. Generous families and foundations, inspired by this historic work of sacred art, have made it possible for the Apostles Edition to become a part of the permanent collections at some of the most prominent institutions in the world: the Library of Congress, the Morgan Library, the Vatican Museum of Art, Washington National Cathedral, Lambeth Palace Library, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. With only four remaining available for acquisition (as of November 2024), this offering won’t last for long.

The Apostles Editions are reserved for major donors to The Saint John’s Bible program at Saint John’s University.

On the signature page of the first volume of each Apostles Edition, Donald Jackson creates a dedication page. Personalized for the donor, this page will forever identify the particular set as well as the name(s) of the donor whose contribution made it possible.
Under the direction of Donald Jackson, the Apostles Edition is traditionally bound in the UK with wooden boards and vegetable-tanned calfskin. The leather features inlaid and hand-tooled gold leaf, a 14-karat gold-plated decorative clasp, and the title page, initialed by Donald Jackson.
To complement your acquisition of the Apostles Edition, Saint John’s University will donate a complete seven-volume set of the Heritage Edition to a qualifying institution in the donor’s name. In this way, the donor makes an impact beyond a private collection to spread the legacy and message of The Saint John’s Bible with the larger community – in liturgies, by scholars and academics, and in the daily life of any faith community.
