This curriculum is designed for use in Catholic and Christian classrooms, grades K-8. The units work in sequence or independently. It is our hope that you will use these lessons to engage young students with the processes behind The Saint John’s Bible and with Scripture passages and their illuminations. These lessons encourage students to think about collaboration, the Benedictine tradition and commitment to the arts, as well as their own talents and vocation.
This curriculum was introduced at the meeting of Chief Administrators of Catholic Education (CACE) in Washington, DC, in October, 2002.
A special thanks goes to Jean Knutson and Target Corporation for their support in bringing Deb Skinner, a teacher and curriculum developer, and The Saint John's Bible together.
We invite your comments and suggestions as we share this project online. Please send your comments to Tim Ternes, director.
