Brother Alan Reed, OSB is a member of the Saint John’s Abbey and holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint John’s University in studio art, a Master of Art from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Chicago in studio art and art theory.

Previously, Brother Alan taught in the art department of Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict for twenty-five years. He is currently graphic designer of the Abbey magazine, Abbey Banner, consultant to and curator of Saint John’s Abbey and University art collections, and a member of the Campus Planning and Design Committee.
